I’ll start of by saying what a positive experience I had with Natalie Verrey and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a recruiter who genuinely takes the time to understand and support the people she works with. Although the original opportunity I was interviewing for didn’t work out, Natalie was incredibly supportive throughout the process. She remembered me and rather than simply moving on, she recognised my potential and went out of her way to recommend me to her colleague for another opportunity. That recommendation and the connection she made ultimately led to me securing my current role, where I’ve now been for two months and am really enjoying it. I’m genuinely grateful for the time, encouragement and belief Natalie showed in me and I know her support played a meaningful part in helping me get to where I am today. What stood out to me most was that Natalie didn’t just see me as another candidate. She took the time to understand me and believed I would be successful in the right opportunity. I’m very grateful for everything Natalie did for me and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a recruiter who is personable, supportive and genuinely invested in helping people find the right opportunity.

Finally posting about my experience even though it was years ago. When this happened I was quite young and even though I felt something was wrong, I didn’t have the vocabulary or confidence to advocate for myself. Sadly, I think this is exactly why Michael Page treated me the way they did. I was contacted by Lou Bain for a position. I had a phone call with her and then her Manager who was so rude and disrespectful to me. He kept interrupting every time I would start to answer one of his questions and at one point said he was hesitant to talk to me as he needed a strong level of English. English is my first language, I did an English degree and I had given many key note speeches at university but I just had a foreign name. He was so dismissive and hostile that I should have trusted my instincts and not gone to the in-person interview but as mentioned, I was young. He specifically asked me to go to the London office even though they had an office in my town so I incurred the cost of travel which was not insignificant to a young unemployed person and had a pretty good interview with another member of his team, a woman who interviewed me then her colleagues showed me around. I was at their offices for 3 hours. Then? Nothing. I followed up with Lou Bain several times over the next 7 weeks and I only got one pathetic email saying she was so sorry for the delay but still no decision. I am now in quite a high up manager position within internal recruitment for a big company and I will never forget how Michael Page treated me and I always use this as a metric for how not to treat candidates.

The experience started well, but unfortunately went downhill quickly. I was ghosted by two different recruiters, one after the initial call and another after an interview. In both cases, I followed up and received absolutely no response. Being ignored especially after attending an interview, shows very little respect for a candidate’s time. I do not recommend Michael Page based on my experience, and I certainly won’t be using them again.
