I was approached by Karolina regarding a role and unfortunately found the communication throughout the recruitment process disappointing. The information I received about the interview panel changed multiple times. Initially, I was told I would be meeting with the hiring manager, then I was informed that an additional interviewer would be attending, and finally, the evening before the interview at 18:30, I was advised that a senior leader might also be joining. As a result, I had to repeatedly adjust my preparation at very short notice. I was also given just two days' notice to prepare for the interview, whereas other candidates were being interviewed the following week. This placed me at a significant disadvantage and, combined with the repeated changes to the interview panel, created an unnecessarily stressful experience. In addition, I was contacted by another recruiter from the agency and asked to call her on the Friday following my interview. When I did so, I was informed that she was on annual leave. I queried why I had been asked to call, only to be told that she was in the office but would be leaving shortly. The interaction left me confused and further contributed to my concerns regarding the level of communication and organisation throughout the process. I was also advised that I would receive interview feedback. However, despite being told that feedback would be provided, I did not receive any further communication regarding the outcome or detailed feedback following the interview. While I appreciate that circumstances can change during recruitment, I would have expected clearer communication, better planning and greater consistency. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling that the process was poorly managed and did not provide candidates with the best opportunity to prepare and perform.

I had a really poor experience with this recruitment company, particularly with their employee Ria. After my interview, she completely stopped responding to my emails and never followed up with any updates. I had to chase multiple times just to find out if there was any feedback from the interviewer, but she never replied. Even if I didn’t get the job, I believe it’s basic professionalism to let candidates know the outcome. It feels like Ria only cares about getting commission from successful placements rather than genuinely helping people through the recruitment process. Overall, I found the communication and follow-up to be very unprofessional and disappointing.

I was registered with Adecco through Lily Hurley for two months and, unfortunately, found the experience very disappointing. Despite promises to connect me with their permanent team, offer temporary opportunities, and provide timely updates, none of these happened. I was put forward for one temporary opportunity but never received an update from the client, even after following up. I also liaised with Maisie during this time. After investing significant time submitting documents and references, I received very little communication and no meaningful progress. While Lily and Megan were warm and professional in their interactions, the overall candidate neglect was evident. This is a recurring issue in many recruitment firms that build large pools of temporary candidates to keep “on hand” but rarely engage with. Lily has since acknowledged these shortcomings via email, and I normally never leave reviews. However, I believe it’s important for others to know to keep their expectations realistic with this agency, as certain processes lack integrity. As a facilities management professional who regularly uses temp agencies myself, I know the importance of treating candidates with respect — and based on my experience, I would not engage with Adecco in that capacity.
